What is a Push Pin?
Push Pin earrings have a thin malleable post attached to the bottom of the charm. The earring is secured by pushing the malleable post into the earring post.
The earring is worn by inserting the post from behind the piercing. Then the charm is secured by inserting the malleable post into the earring post from the front of the piercing.
How does it work?
Push Pin earrings have a thin malleable post attached to the bottom of the charm. The pin should be bent once inserted about half way into the post.
The bend in the pin is what creates tension to tighten the earring. The more bent the pin is, the tighter the fit! The pin only needs to be bent slightly for a secure fit.
Over bending the pin will cause the earring to not close properly or damage the earring.
Post Length
Our Push Pin earrings are available in 4 different post lengths. As every ear and piercing is unique, the post length will vary from each person however 6mm is typically the most popular length for the lobe and cartilage piercings.
Post Gauge
Gauge refers to the post thickness.
- 16G (1.2mm) is our thickest post option
- 18G (1.00mm) is typically the standard thickness and fits majority of piercings
- 20G (0.8mm) is our thinnest post option
Traditional stud earrings are 20G (0.8mm). Our 20G push pins are perfect for those with small piercing holes.
